Course Description

10-412-160 DIESEL ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT ...focuses on electronic computer controlled engine management system function, component identification and computer-based diagnostic tool operation. Lab demonstrations cover component identification, function and testing of the engine management systems. Introduction to proper operation and use of electronic testing with the use of a digital volt ohm meter.

  1. Interface with vehicle's on-board computer; perform diagnostic procedures using electronic service tools(s) (to include PC based software and/or data scan tools); determine needed action. P-1
  2. Perform on-engine inspections and test on high pressure common rail (HPCR) type injectors system;determine needed actions. P-2
  3. Using electronic service tool(s) access and interpret customer programmable parameters. P-1
