10-605-171 DATACOMM 2: BASIC NETWORKING... introduction to basic networking, the OS Model and TC/IP layers, local area networks, wireless networks, cellular communications, and the data link layer. (Prerequisite: 10-605-170, Data Comm 1: Introduction)

What will I learn?

  1. Utilize advanced oscilloscope functions to analyze communication circuits
  2. Generate a line-code modulated signal
  3. Analyze network protocols using a network analyzing tool
  4. Create a Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum signal
  5. Examine wireless communications protocols
  6. Explain Networking concepts, including OSI, TC/IP models, Data Link Layers, Wireless and Wired networks

Class Notes

·         Class Format: Combination of in-person lectures and lab work and online learning materials.

·         Lab Activities: Complete hands-on labs in ET129 during posted open lab times.
