Course Description

10-150-200 CISCO INTRO ...introduces the architectures, models, protocols, and networking elements that connect users, devices, applications and data through the internet and across modern computer networks - including IP addressing and Ethernet fundamentals. By the end of the course, students can build simple local area networks (LANs) that integrate IP addressing schemes, foundational network security, and perform basic configurations for routers and switches.

What will I learn?

  1. Describe the functioning of computer networking
  2. Examine the seven layers of the OSI Reference Model.
  3. Identify LAN cabling characteristics and components.
  4. Utilize logical LAN design diagrams.
  5. Identify the purpose and operation of common network services.
  6. Examine the implementation of reliability in network communication.
  7. Describe the movement of network packets through internetworks.
  8. Apply IPv4 addressing schemes.
  9. Develop subnet schemes for IPv4 addressing structures.
  10. Examine IPv6 addressing structure and use.
  11. Perform basic router configuration.
