What will I learn?
- Center 3, 5, and 7 pounds of clay on the wheel
- Open 3, 5, and 7 pounds of clay on the wheel, preparing the base for a cylinder, a bowl, and a plate
- Throw a cylinder equal to or greater than 8-inches high
- Throw a variety of forms, including a bowl, a plate, and a cup
- Apply texture to a clay form while on the wheel
- Alter a clay form made on the wheel
- Define formal elements of a clay pot
- Trim to create a finished foot on a thrown object
- Pull and attach handles to thrown forms
- Glaze functional wares – dip, pour, and brush methods
- Self-critique a selection of completed work
