What will I learn?

  1. Describe the sources of law and methods used to resolve legal disputes within the U.S legal system.
  2. Distinguish between the legal and ethical responsibilities of individuals and businesses.
  3. Identify the characteristics of various types of torts and crimes.
  4. Identify legal protections for personal and business intellectual property.
  5. Describe the essential elements of the formation and discharge of common contracts and e-contracts.
  6. Explain how the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) facilitates commercial sales and leases.
  7. Describe the legal requirements of businesses to protect the interests of consumers.
  8. Describe the rights and responsibilities of principals, agents and independent contractors in the business employment relationship.
  9. Identify the major provisions of laws that regulate the employment relationship.
  10. Compare the formation and characteristics of the major forms of business organization.

Class Notes

This class is taught through a combination of in-person and online instruction. Students will attend live portions of the class at the dates, times, and location specified.
