10-664-105 AUTOMATION 6: PLC ...programming a PLC system to operate a discrete and analog process adhering to a functional specification or timing diagram. (Pre-requisite: 10-664-104, Automation 5: PLC or Instructor Approval)

What will I learn?

  1. Setup a PLC program with necessary components conforming to functional specification
  2. Perform a system hardware check-out of system
  3. Implement necessary discrete programming techniques to operate machinery via manual functional specification
  4. Implement necessary discrete programming techniques to operate machinery via auto functional specification
  5. Produce final discrete control scheme conforming to functional specification

Class Notes

1. IMPORTANT: Each class consists of lecture delivered in person plus additional time in the Tech Hall lab, Room ET129 during the posted open lab times.  Plan approximately 30 hours to complete both portions of this class.

2. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  Tech Hall Lab, Room ET129, is open Mon-Thurs 8am-8pm; Fridays 8am-3pm; Saturdays 8am-1pm.  The Lab will observe all College closure holidays and breaks.
