Creating a culture of inclusion and equity at the College

To help all NWTC students reach their goals, the College uses student success data and surveys to learn and implement best practices. On this page, you’ll find NWTC diversity and inclusion data as well as College policies and procedures.

DREAM = Data. Reform. Equity. Achievement. Movement.

In spring 2010, NWTC joined Achieving the Dream, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping community college students succeed.

Achieving the Dream is focused on creating a “culture of evidence” on community college campuses in which data collection and analysis drive efforts to identify problems that prevent students from succeeding and develop programs to help them stay in school and receive a certificate or diploma.

As a member of Achieving the Dream, NWTC is identifying strategies to:

  • Improve student success.
  • Close achievement gaps.
  • Increase retention, persistence, and completion rates.

Recent Climate and Engagement Surveys

PACE Survey

Every other year, NWTC employees are invited to share their perceptions of the college climate through the Personal Assessment of College Environment Survey. NWTC uses the survey data to promote open and constructive communication among faculty, staff, and administrators.

  • Active and collaborative learning.
  • Student effort.
  • Academic challenge.
  • Student-faculty interaction.
  • Support for learners.

Campus Climate Survey

In 2017, NWTC conducted a self-study to measure student perception of the campus environment as it relates to interpersonal, academic, and professional interactions. The survey was voluntary and confidential. Most importantly, it allowed our students to share their voices and make a difference.

College Policies and Procedures

At Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, we are proud of our inclusive culture in which everyone can soar higher. We are committed to providing an environment, programs, and activities that are free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

To ensure compliance with federal and state civil rights laws and regulations, and to affirm our commitment to fairness and equity, NWTC has developed internal policies and procedures that provide a prompt, fair, and impartial process for those involved in an allegation of discrimination or harassment on the basis of applicable protected class.
