Attending an accredited college helps ensure you can get a quality education, access federal financial aid, and transfer credits to other institutions. The United States Department of Education recognizes Northeast Wisconsin Technical College as an institution of higher education.
The Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Board recognizes Northeast Wisconsin Technical College as a comprehensive technical college.
NWTC is approved by the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) to offer online and distance learning courses.

2025 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence Finalist
The Aspen Institute named NWTC as a finalist for the 2025 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. The $1 million award is the nation's signature recognition of strong performance among community colleges.
2023 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award
INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education, named NWTC a recipient of this award, recognizing the College's innovations in helping underrepresented students pursue STEM careers.
2021 Achieving the Dream Leah Meyer Austin Award
NWTC received this annual prize for an ATD Network college that shows substantive improvement in student outcomes; narrowing and closing of equity gaps; and outstanding commitment to equity-centered cultural change.
2021 Bellwether Award Finalist
