The program will center around Florida International University and their Cuban Research Institute where you will learn about US/Cuban relations and Cuban history. Students will also visit several Miami museums, tour Vizcaya - possibly the "finest private house ever built in America", and a visit to the large graffiti art community of Wynwood. Music and dance opportunities will also be presented as well as a chance to check out South Beach and Downtown Miami. We will also take a trip to Key West, the southern most point of the US and look out to Cuba across the sea.
Learn about Cuban culture without leaving the U.S.! Learn about music, dance, politics, and sample delicious Cuban cuisine.
You will study the largest Cuban Music collection in the U.S. at Florida International University and help with the efforts to digitize it for research. The program will also enrich your understanding of our role with Cuba and about the exiled Cuban community in the U.S.
Take part in lectures on Cuban/U.S. politics, culture, the arts and more! Cultural exploration and education will be the focus of this program.
