Travel on a unique study abroad program to Cuba! You will have the opportunity to experience Cuban culture, attend lectures with local experts, and visit many local businesses.
Visits include the Fabrica de Arte (art factory), the Business School at University of Havana, Museum of the Revolution, recording studio, service learning project at a local tourism school, walking tours of Old Havana and Cayo Hueso, and a day excursion to Las Terrazas.
Students will be able to:
Examine potential legal, political, social and/or economic outcomes of personal behavior as they relate to diverse populations
Assess the importance of global perspectives
Explore material and nonmaterial aspects of cultures
Explore the concept of social justice
Examine differences between US businesses and those in Cuba.
Develop communication skills while travelling in a country where another language is spoken.
The study abroad experience aligns with NWTC Employability Skills; in particular, "value individual differences and abilities", and "demonstrate community and global accountability".
$2,900 is the estimated program cost, and includes:
Costs do not include, tuition (optional), recommended vaccinations, some meals, personal spending money, and passport fees.
College of Business students: use this as your Career Experience
This study abroad experience will satisfy the Career Experience component in any College of Business associate degree program. Each academic program has criteria for assessment of learning; typically journaling and a portfolio presentation linking learning to the program outcomes.
All credit opportunities are optional.
