Energy & Conservation Club

WHAT WE DO

ECC is getting involved with many different projects at NWTC.

We started a program last semester called the “Cigarette and Energy Bar Brigade” where our members are going around NWTC and collecting cigarette butts and energy bar wrappers to be sent to TerraCycle. TerraCycle then recycles the waste into plastic instead of being sent to a landfill.

Our club also does CFL swaps, where people can bring in incandescent light bulbs and replace them with CFLs or just buy the CFLs at NWTC.

We go to different field trips such as the Sustainability Summit in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and visited a hydroelectric dam in Norway, Michigan. Also a few of our members went to the study abroad trip in Denmark last summer, more members plan on going this summer as well.

The ECC club is now also apart of WAEE (Wisconsin Association of Energy Engineers), because of this our club members are allowed to become individual members of the WAEE which can greatly improve future job applications. If this sounds something that you might be interested in please stop by one of our meetings.

MEETING TIMES & DATES

ECC meets every other Tuesday from 12:30 - 1:30 in room AP 105.
The meeting dates for the rest of our semester are: 3/3, 3/17, 3/31, 4/14, 4/28, and 5/12.
