American Marketing Association

AMA Club members at EAA

As one of the newest clubs at NWTC, the American Marketing Association was created as a branch, extending off what students learn not only in the Marketing program, but what they learn throughout any program, or career. This chapter is used as a way of weaving class work into real-world experiences, and real-world experiences back into class.
The way we accomplish this is through industry trips, and observing panels of marketing professionals, some of these panels have been with the Packer’s marketing department, where we learned some of what goes on during the off-season. Others have been with organizations like the EAA, where we got a taste for what it’s like to appeal to hundreds of thousands of people across the globe. Through this we build on our network, and create future openings for bigger club experiences. We offer on-campus experience as well by participating as volunteers for various events, or even creating our own events such as the Career Prep Fair, where from the ground up we put on an event to help students ready themselves for the NWTC Job Fair. We also offer opportunities to fundraise for the club, which has opened the possibility of working towards participating in national conferences. Though the chapter is young, a growth in our team would bring us this opportunity sooner than later.
With the creativity NWTC’s student body has to offer, AMA would see the goal we set out to accomplish: Create a foundation for our members as they set out into the professional world, and provide them a network to help fulfill their potential in the working force. We welcome students of any program, and we hope to see you at our next meeting!
