  • Medical laboratory technicians provide clinical information for disease prevention, medical diagnosis and treatment of the patient by processing specimens and performing laboratory tests.
  • Medical laboratory technicians may also have responsibilities for information processing, training, and quality control monitoring.
  • They perform tests manually or with automated equipment or both.

How can you prepare for a medical laboratory career?

Enroll in the NWTC Medical Laboratory Technician associate degree. As a graduate of the program, you'll be prepared to act as an entry level medical laboratory technician. You will be qualified to take the board of certification examination from the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
