Student Chooses Business Management for Broader Career Opportunities

Samantha Forrest

Business Management, Global Supply Chain Management Emphasis Student

When I first started at NWTC I was unsure of what I wanted to do and knew that it would be a great starting point for me. I also chose NWTC because it was much more affordable for me than a four-year college was. Because of this, I was able to pay for my first two semesters at NWTC out of pocket.

I chose the Business Management program because it is a broad degree that will open up many career opportunities. I also was unsure of what I wanted to do in the future and knew that this program would allow me the opportunity to look for various careers once I graduated.

NWTC has given me the confidence that I once lacked when I started at NWTC. I will be graduating in May 2016 with highest honors and was able to join the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society due to my GPA. I struggled immensely in high school and found that when I came to NWTC I was able to achieve the grades I wanted. In April (2016), I was awarded the Extraordinary Student Leader award from the Supply Chain Management Club at NWTC. I am very happy and grateful for all of the opportunities and doors that NWTC have opened up for me.

My advice to future NWTC students: You can do anything that you set your mind to. Know that you can achieve the grades you want by working hard. Your opportunities are endless at NWTC! I would also suggest joining a club at NWTC as it is a great way to network and meet new people. This helped me meet new people at NWTC and helped me create friendships that I otherwise would not have had.
