There are so many benefits for Veterans returning to college at NWTC. The faculty do everything they can to help you succeed. When it comes to getting you the money you earned for college while serving in the military, NWTC has licensed professionals who will go above and beyond to get you what you need to be successful both in the classroom and financially.

There are many credits you can receive for being a veteran, allowing you to take fewer classes to get the degree. All that time you spent in the military in whatever job field you chose can benefit you in the classroom and reduce the number of credits you have to take.

In the Veterans office, the Advisors and Certifying officials want to make sure you are completely taken care of and come in even on the weekends to make sure everything is ready for you, when it comes to the start of each semester. As a veteran myself, I saw first-hand exactly what they do for you in order to help you succeed. If you are a veteran or a dependent of a veteran, there are benefits for you to come to college and get whatever degree you want. I am not sure where I would be out, without their constant sacrifice that helped me be successful. The people who work in the Veterans office are prior military themselves which means they understand what you are going for and are constantly there for you.

The veteran’s office is so much more than just a place to get your benefits squared away. It’s a home away from home, a relaxing place where you can connect with other veterans who know exactly what you are going through and make new friends. It is a great place to relax between classes or even do homework in. We have brand new computers and an Xbox if you just want to relax and watch a movie or television show between classes.

The benefits for being a veteran include not having to pay for books or for tuition. Getting extra money extra month allows you to focus on school and not have to work a 40-hour work week while getting your degree. Even if you think you might not have benefits, make sure to check with them, they know how to find you any and all benefits. They were absolutely phenomenal and allow you to focus on classes instead of worrying about other things.
