GROW Grant

GROWing Your Business Wisely, USDA Funded Grant Program - $24

This is a “Unique program that is designed to help small business owners grow their businesses beyond the first stage.” Qualifying participants will meet for a total of either (1) 6-hour session or (2) 3-hour sessions. Attendees will learn the following objectives during this series: 

Discover & Develop Your Entrepreneurial Talents

The first two-hours of the training series is designed to help the business owner understand his/her talents and how they can leverage those talents to effectively grow their business through the following activities:
  •    ​- Explore the different skills needed to start, sustain and grow the business
  •    - Discover entrepreneurial talents
  •    - Identify potential gaps in current skills and talents that might be holding the company back
  •    - Develop a strategy to capitalize strengths and manage the gaps
  •    - Introduction to Business Modeling

How to Use the Business Model Canvas

Throughout the remainder of the workshop, participants will learn the nin building blocks that make up the business model canvas:
  •    - Assessment of current state of your business
  •    - Discover the difference between a business plan and a business model and the benefits of creating a business model
  •    - Learn about and identify your customer segment and value proposition
  •    - Benefit from learning about your strategic partners, key business activities and resources, cost structures, value proposition
  •       and  customer relationships. We will also explore distribution channels, customer segments and revenue streams.
  •    - Create a business model that drivees growth
  •    - Learn to prototype and test your business model
  •    - Learn how to use your business model as a tool to create a business plan or updat ean existing business plan.

Grant funds are available for qualifying businesses!

To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Business must be located in Florence, Kewaunee, Marinette, Oconto or Shawano Count
  •     - Have less than 10 employees
  •     - Annual Revenue under $1 Million
  •     - A desire to GROW!

Are you a growth-minded small business owner looking for a process that will help you take your business to the next level and achieve peak performance? With the support of a USDA grant, NWTC is accepting nominations/applications for a special workshop series designed for businesses with 1 - 9 employees and annual revenues under one million dollars. The program consists of either 1 full day workshop or 2 half-day (4 hours) workshops. The cost for the program is $24, which includes a $12 fee for Gallup's Entrepreneurial Talents online assessment tool, which all participants will be required to complete prior to the first workshop. The program is available to businesses in Shawano, Florence, Oconto, Marinette and Kewaunee Counties.
