Student Ambassadors

Samar in Green BaySamar

Hey everyone, I am Samar (you can call me Sam). I’m from Tunisia, a small country in North Africa. Two years ago, I was a J-1 exchange student at NWTC. However, when I finished my program, I had to go back home. I brought back so many memories of countless great experiences I had in the U.S. However, I knew from the start I wanted to go back to Green Bay to continue my education at NWTC. I absolutely loved it there because of the amazing opportunities I had. I learned, grew, and had fun. Now, I’m finally back on-campus and I’m so excited to continue what I had started two years ago. Besides being an International Student Ambassador, I am also enrolled in the Hospitality Management program. I look forward to work with current and new international students of NWTC. Studying abroad is amazing and is challenging in a very good way. Just know that I am here to make sure that you get the best out of your adventure. Stay positive and step our of your comfort zone! I am sure you’ll see me around campus, and if you have any questions, I am here to help at samar.sbaihi@nwtc.edu.

Denisse

Hola! My name is Denisse. I was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco but I have been living in Green Bay for most of my life. I went to Southwest High School and graduated in 2016. But as of right now, I’m enrolled in the Design and Graphic Technology program here at NWTC. I would also love to further my education by pursuing marketing as well. In the end, my aspiration would be to become a successful, creative graphic designer. I truly appreciate NWTC because of all the opportunities I was given to become a more valuable student and person. The staff and faculty here on campus have always been super helpful to any questions or concerns I’ve had. They’ve inspired me to take the amazing opportunity to become part of the wonderful team at Student Involvement, working with the International Programs, Study Abroad, and marketing as a Multicultural Intern. This position also involves me working as an International Student Ambassador, and it’s been great! I’m very excited to be able to work with current and prospective international students. If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email denisse.arjon-rivera@nwtc.edu I am fluent in both English and Spanish and will do my absolute best to connect you with the right resources

CharaChara

I’m Chara (pronounced Kara) and I am in the Business Management program. After graduation, I plan to work in the field of eCommerce. As someone who loves shopping and computers, it only seems natural to me. I have been in the States for a little over a year now and so far, my experience has been amazing. I was born and raised in Malaysia, but I had a pretty unconventional upbringing since I was homeschooled up until high school. In addition to be an international student ambassador, I am also an academic coach at the on-campus writing lab. Attending NWTC has taught me to step out of my comfort zone and look for opportunities that will help me learn and grow. This is why I take this position as a way to give back to other students who are in the same position that I was in a year ago. I am always happy to help and can be easily reached at puiyee.tan@nwtc.edu or in SC118 (student involvement).
