Provides foundational knowledge for Emergency Medical Technician {EMT} candidates and all required curriculum for Emergency Medical Responder {EMR} candidates. Topics include: basic anatomy and physiology, patient assessment, airway management, cardiac management, basic medical care, medication administration, basic traumatic injury management, basic ambulance operations, and AHA CPR Basic Life Support certification. Students who successfully complete EMR/EMT 1, will be eligible to participate in the National Registry of EMT's {NREMT} EMR exams required for Wisconsin DHS EMR licensure. Two credit, in-person course that is completed in an 8-week semester format.
