Course Description

10-662-112 DC/AC 3 ...apply Thevenin's and Norton's Theorems in practical problems involving complex AC circuits. Solve complex AC circuits using Mesh and Nodal techniques and describe power flow in complex AC circuits. (Prerequisite: 10-660-109, AC 3: RLC Circuits)

What will I learn?

  1. Demonstrate background in steady state DC series parallel electrical circuit analysis
  2. Demonstrate background in basic AC impedance and circuit concepts and analysis
  3. Demonstrate techniques necessary to analyze and use ideal transformers in circuits
  4. Demonstrate the techniques necessary to analyze an AC circuit in steady state using series parallel, nodal analysis, and fundamental network theorems.
  5. Demonstrate the techniques necessary to calculate the complex power of any AC electrical circuit.
  6. Demonstrate the proper use of electrical measurement equipment in the laboratory.
  7. Generate technical laboratory report.
