Achieving the Dream

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is committed to student success and institutional improvement.

In spring 2010, NWTC joined Achieving the Dream, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping community college students succeed.

Achieving the Dream is focused on creating a “culture of evidence” on community college campuses in which data collection and analysis drive efforts to identify problems that prevent students from succeeding and develop programs to help them stay in school and receive a certificate or diploma.

As a member of Achieving the Dream, NWTC is identifying strategies to:

  • Improve student success
  • Close achievement gaps
  • Increase retention, persistence, and completion rates

NWTC is the first college in Wisconsin to join Achieving the Dream.

“We are excited to be part of a national effort that is dedicated to student success,” said College President Dr. H. Jeffrey Rafn. “NWTC is on track to graduate a record number of students this year, yet some of our learners leave without finishing their degree, diploma, or certificate – we want all of our students to succeed in meeting their educational goals.”
