RISE Leadership Series for Students

FREE NWTC Student Certificate Series focused on
the intersectionality of identity and leadership.


Do you have a passion  to lead and work with a diverse team? Want to develop your leadership skills to make a positive impact on the NWTC community and beyond?

RISE Requirements

Students must attend a minimum of four elective curriculum-based sessions and complete the mandatory capstone experience.  Students who attend at least six curriculum-based sessions will earn a chance to win various prizes worth hundreds of dollars.

Food for Thought

Students must attend at least one ‘Food for Thought’ presentation. Attendance will be confirmed by the Student Involvement Office and attendees must submit a one-page summary of the presentation.

A Place at the Table

Students must attend at least one ‘A Place at the Table’ discussion. Attendance will be confirmed by the Diversity & Inclusion Office and attendees must submit a one-page paper on how they will apply what they learned.

  • Dates and times TBD – info will be emailed to participants.

Students who meet minimum requirements will earn an honorary certificate of completion.
