Author: Kara Leiterman

Thursday March 19, 2020
In response to the rapidly developing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and with health and safety of students and staff, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College has shifted most College operations and courses online.

NWTC has also taken multiple steps to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The College is reducing the amount of activity and number of people on our campuses and regional learning centers.

The following steps are now in place:

Public (non-student) access
·         All NWTC buildings will be closed to the public until further notice.
·         The College remains open for employees.
·         The Artisan and Business Center remains open.
·         NEW Community Clinic remains open for scheduled appointments.
·         On-site Corporate Training and Economic Development offerings will continue as scheduled.

Reducing student activity and density at all NWTC sites
·         Effective immediately all NWTC sites are closed to future and current students until March 29.
·         Effective March 29 until further notice:
o    The College will hold all face-to-face classes and related coursework through alternative methods of delivery that do not require the student to attend in-person.
o    Hands-on instruction, including courses that have labs and clinicals, will continue to be held on-campus while abiding by the requirement that no more than 10 people can be in a confined space at one time.  Students will hear directly from their deans and/or instructors regarding any specific instructions on their programs.
·         Health Science and Education (H, S &E) students will not be sent to clinicals or practicums until at least April 5.
·         H, S & E will evaluate clinicals and practicums program by program. Students will hear from faculty about specific program plan by April 5.
·         All on-campus events have been canceled until May 10.
Reducing employee activity and density at all NWTC sites
·         Employees are encouraged to work from home. NWTC is maximizing work at home for all full-time and part-time employees until further notice.

We will continue to provide additional information through our website and email.
