Over $42,000 — $42,830 to be exact — raised during Give Big Green Bay to help students at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) succeed.

The NWTC Educational Foundation was one of 40 area non-profits that participated in the 24-hour Give Big Green Bay giving event on February 20, 2019.

“We’re so grateful partnership we have with Greater Green Bay Community Foundation and the Green Bay Packers Foundation,” Crystral Harrison, director of the NWTC Educational Foundation said. “To be selected to participate in Give Big Green Bay, was a privilege. The community embraced supporting and encouraging individuals to further their education”.

The NWTC Educational Foundation believes everyone in Northeast Wisconsin deserves access to higher education. The foundation works eliminate financial barriers for students to succeed.

“Raising over $42,000 has an immediate impact for our students. The donations will be used how students need it most – to provide emergency funding and scholarships. The assistance makes a difference for students financially, but it also gives a boost of encouragement to keep going,” Harrison said.

Give Big Green Bay was big success for not only NWTC, but the community. The event raised a total of $1,387,860, which includes $1,075,360 of donor contributions along with $250,000 in matching funds from the Green Bay Packers Foundation.

“It was so exciting to see donations of all sizes coming in throughout the day! Nonprofit work is collaborative; we wouldn’t be able to provide assistance to students the way we do, without the generosity of others,” Ashley Noel, NWTC alumni engagement specialist. The donations truly help make college possible for students.”
