Masonry apprentices help dedicate a building to honor a hero

GREEN BAY— Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) masonry apprentices were on hand Friday, October 28, 2016 to help dedicate the concession stand at the Arnie Wolf Sports Complex in Green Bay. The apprentices spent just about every Friday this semester building the structure.

It was all to honor a man who gave his life for his city. Wolf, a Green Bay firefighter, died in the line of duty in 2006. Honoring him is what makes working on this project so much more to the apprentices.

On October 28, NWTC Masonry Instructor Dave Pryes laid the dedication stone. Pryes was meticulous about placing the stone just right. While others in the crowd started talking about their weekend or life, Dave worked to make sure the dedication was flawless. It looks amazing.

The building should be completed soon. Volunteers plan to start construction on the roof in November.
