Tuesday January 5, 2016 GREEN BAY – Students at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) are spending today preparing to leave for a study abroad program in Thailand. A group of 20 leave January 7 for an over two-week trip. About half of the students will receive course credit for Diversity Studies. The rest are going on the journey to learn about Thailand’s long history. For many, it is a chance to explore their own culture and heritage. The program will include an emphasis on the HMONG migration from Laos to the United States. While in Thailand, students will meet Thai students and explore the cultural and historical monuments: including floating markets, elephant park and tribal villages. Students will journal about their experience. The group returns on January 22.
