Future students: Get help applying for financial aid at NWTC

Monday February 15, 2016
College costs can seem scary, but there are steps students and parents can take to make college possible. You need a plan of action, and it should include attending a College Goal Wisconsin event!

College Goal Wisconsin provides free information and assistance to families who need to complete the FAFSA Paying for College banner(Free Application for Federal Student Aid). FAFSA is the federally required form for students seeking financial aid, such as grants and loans. Completing the FAFSA is the first and most important step in qualifying for aid, and it is a vital part of paying for college at NWTC and every other US college.

In Northeast Wisconsin, College Goal Wisconsin will take place twice:
  • 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the NWTC-Green Bay Student Center (see Student Center on map), and
  • 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 27 at NWTC-Shawano Regional Center
(For residents who cannot be at either event, it will be held at other locations throughout the state.)

Students should attend with a parent or guardian if possible and bring specific materials necessary to complete the FAFSA. If parents are unable to attend, students may attend alone and bring these materials. Independent students should bring their own income and asset information. For further information, visit

College Goal Wisconsin is sponsored by the Wisconsin Association for Student Financial Aid Administrators (WASFAA).
