Wednesday December 30, 2015 It is the end of an era for Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) criminal justice adjunct instructor, alum and De Pere Police officer Joe Johnson. His K9 partner, Elsie, worked her last patrol shift Tuesday December 29. Elsie is De Pere's first drug detection dog. Since the pair started working together in 2006, they have searched thousands of homes, cars and businesses for narcotics. After almost nine years in De Pere, it is time for Elsie to retire. She will now enjoy retirement as the Johnson's family dog.
