Q. What is Self-Paced Learning? top
A. A variety of computer classes are offered in the Self-Paced format at NWTC. This allows students to work at their own pace on an available computer at home, at their place of business or in one of NWTC's student-centered labs. Instructors are available during scheduled hours to assist students and administer tests.
Q. What are the benefits of self-paced classes? top
A. They offer great flexibility. You can work at your own pace, and where it is convenient for you. You only need to come to the lab to submit assignments and for the final evaluation.
Q. What self-paced classes are offered? top
Click on the Find A Class button located at the top of this page for the most current semester classes.
Q. Are the classes Credit or Non-Credit? top
A. NWTC has Credit & Non-Credit classes in Microcomputer/Keyboarding, Credit & Non-Credit Classes in General Studies and Credit & Non-Credit classes in Accounting.
Q. If I finish a class in a month, do I have to wait until the following semester to register for another one? top
A. The classes are offered the first half of the semester and the second half of the semester; with each class lasting about 8 ½ weeks. Each course takes about 36 hours to complete. If you work on the class 6 hours per week, then you should be able to complete it in 6 weeks. Therefore, then you would be able to take another class the second half of the semester. You don’t need to wait to complete the first class before enrolling in a class that begins the second half of the semester, but you do need to complete the work in the allotted timeframe.
Q. How do I register for Self-Paced classes? top
A. Registration for Self-Paced classes is the same as for other NWTC class. (Phone-in, Walk-In, Online, Mail-In.)
Q. Who can I contact for more information? top
