Library Holds and Requests

When the item you need is not available, we are happy to help you get it.

Holds/Waiting Lists

If someone else has NWTC’s copy of the book or video you need, place a hold on it to get on the waiting list.  When it is returned to the Library, we will contact you.

  • Find the item in the Library Catalog.
  • Confirm that it is unavailable.
  • Choose the Make a Request option on the right side of the screen.
  • Login with your id and last name and follow the Hold instructions.

Or ask a librarian to place the hold for you.

Intercampus Loans

Need an item from one of the other NWTC campus libraries?  We can send it to the campus or regional center that you use.

  • Find the item in the Library Catalog.
  • Choose the Make a Request option on the right side of the screen.
  • Login with your id and last name.
  • Complete the Interlibrary Loan request form and indicate your campus or regional center in the Comment field.

Or ask a librarian to place the intercampus loan for you.

Interlibrary Loans

What if NWTC does not have the item you need?  We will borrow it from a different library for you for free!

  • Use WISCAT or WorldCat to find the item.
  • Click the Request This button and fill out the form to send the request.
  • Or send an email request to interlibrary.loan@nwtc.edu with details about the item you would like.

In about a week, the item will arrive at NWTC, and we will contact you.

NWTC also has agreements with local libraries that would allow you to go there to pick up an item that you need right away.

If you are not close to an NWTC campus, you can ask your local public library to perform the Interlibrary loan so you can pick the item up there.
