Help us welcome some new faces to NWTC!

Julie Brown
Training Solutions Consultant
Corporate Training and Economic Development
Room CB221; ext. 6899

Julie Brown comes to NWTC from Baylake Bank, where she was IRA/Health Savings Account Manager. She has a bachelor's degree from UW-Oshkosh.

She describes growing up as follows: "Peshtigo, lived on a boat for a year, Florida, Oconto." She must not regret the return north too much, since she now lives in Sturgeon Bay with her daughter, age 16, and two sons, 14 and 8. In her spare time, she and her daughter and brother-in-law have put together an 80s rock band. She says "We may never really perform, but it's a lot of fun!" Now, she says, "I look forward to getting to know many of you - but, wow! There are a lot of you! It may take a while!"

Mary Pat Carlson
Clerical Support, Sturgeon Bay Campus
Room SB 131; ext. 4936

Mary Pat has been an NWTC adjunct instructor in Basic Education and Culinary Courses and has taught students from preschool to college. She is also the director of the Farm Market Kitchen Incubator in Algoma, "a shared-use food processing facility for small-scale food processors. I now work with start-up businesses from throughout Northeast Wisconsin."

She earned her bachelor's degree from UW-Stout and a certificate in Vocational Education. "Technical education is an amazing place to be," she says. She and husband Mark have one daughter, age 16, and live "on the Carlson family orchard in Sister Bay... My summers are spent helping my husband run our family cherry orchard and our farm market. My favorite activities are working with my daughter, Anna, processing and marketing our own line of specialty products and growing and selling specialty dried flowers. "
