Another exciting feature of the NWTC Intranet
The Intranet site can be set up to send you email alerts about additions and changes in certain areas of the site. This feature is called ALERTS and you can set them up for yourself, depending on what information you would like to be kept up to date on.
You cannot just set up one alert per site. But you can set up an alert on a document library, an announcements list, or a calendar. If you are interested in being notified about new items in any of these places, look for the “Alert Me” link. Click on it and you will get a screen to set up the alert. Type in your e-mail address and select what you want to be alerted about and how often. Warning! Don’t select the first choice “
Send e-mail immediately
” too often or your email box could be over-run with notices. Selecting a daily or weekly summary should give you what you want without giving you too much email. You can also set an alert on an individual item if you want to just be updated about a document or a calendar entry. Use the drop-down arrow > Alert Me for a document or the Alert Me in the action bar on a calendar item.

Go to the Intranet site > IIT > All Staff > Folder = How To > Folder = Intranet-SharePoint. If you have any questions or problems with setting up alerts, please contact the Help Desk at 498-6800.

The green NWTC Telephone directory, that was created and distributed last spring, May 2007, is outdated. To get the most updated information, please go to the NWTC Intranet and on the home page is the updated Telephone Directory. The telephone directory is updated as soon as any changes occur.
