Help Hunt for NWTC Historical Treasures

Calling all hunters . . . I mean, treasure hunters.

The Historical Archive Committee needs your help to hunt down pieces of NWTC’s history. Our goal is to create displays at each campus with a timeline and artifacts.

So far, we’ve received pictures, yearbooks, a Mariner’s basketball uniform, an NWTI ashtray, copies of student newsletters, graduation programs, promotional items, newspaper clippings, versions of NWTI and NWTC letterhead, and more . . .

We are looking for anything that helps to tell the story of the College’s journey to this point.
For example, do you have a hard hat from one of the groundbreaking ceremonies?

Do you have files in your office that you don’t use, but don’t want to throw away because of their historical value?

Does your area have miscellaneous items in storage that we can look through?

We also want to record stories that can help bring this timeline to life. These oral histories would be added to an online archive along with other digitized materials from the past.

Please contact one of the NWTC Treasure Hunters listed below if you can help us find these materials or would be willing to reminisce with us.

Text on the back of this picture is as follows: “Campus life gives few opportunities for students to socialize at NWTI, however breaks between classes offer brief periods of relaxation in the spacious lounge, game recreation area, and cafeteria. Bright lounge furniture is in contrast to the exterior orchard campus setting.”
