Career Strategies |
| The Wisconsin Career Centers
Program has identified a five step process that individuals
should proceed through to develop a career plan. Each step
will need to be modified according to the needs of the individual.
This process, with modifications, can be used by both students
and adults as they contemplate a future career or a career
change.
Five Steps in Career Development
- Awareness - Learn about careers and the world of work
- Assessment - Relate interests, aptitudes, skills, and goals to career ideas
- Exploration - Investigate occupations, job clusters, and training
- Selection - Look into career options and necessary training
- Application - Begin high school training and postsecondary options
