Career Ambassadors 

NWTC Career Ambassador Program

By participating in the Career Ambassador Program, you will be part of a select group of trained and informed students who will represent the college at significant events and activities.  You will be required to attend recruitment events such as College Preview Night. In addition, you will be asked to attend Career Services events aimed at promoting career opportunities and job seeking strategies to students and community members.

As a Career Ambassador, you may:

  • Give campus tours
  • Assist with special events such as job fairs, transfer fairs, recruitment events, etc
  • Develop special projects within the career services department, such as business professional fashion shows and etiquette dinners
  • Engage in community outreach
  • Develop workshops and presentations for high school, junior high, and elementary school students.

Who may apply?

  • Have a 2.75 GPA or better and maintain this while in the program
  • Be in good academic, financial, and disciplinary standing
  • Must have at least 2 semesters prior to graduating
  • Be available to attend regular meetings
  • Enrolled in a program at NWTC and enrolled in at least 6 units per semester.
  • Interested in developing leadership, public speaking, event coordination experience
  • **All Student Ambassadors must be available to attend program training sessions.  Times and dates TBA 

Requirements to stay in the program:

  • Attend bi-weekly meetings
  • Participate in campus events such as Welcome Back Celebration, Tech Awareness, College Preview Night and Tech Challenge
  • Coordinate and participate in 1 community service event per semester
  • Coordinate at least 1 special group for an on-campus tour
  • Participate in at least 1 high school event
  • Promote career services at division table events
  • Conduct divisional tours during all campus recruitment events
  • Coordinate fashion show and etiquette dinner
  • Work at the 2 college job fairs
