 Horticulture Club

The organization shall serve as a coordinating unit for students within the Landscape Horticulture Technician program of this college for the purpose of:

  • Representing the Horticulture Department of this college in the college government.
  • Providing employment opportunity information to undergraduates in the horticulture field.
  • Providing and promoting the development of organized social and recreational activities.


The Horticulture Club donates $100 to the N.E.W. Clinic


  • Fee: $10.00 per year

Volunteer 4 hours of your time to help out the club in their activities:

Benefits of becoming of member of the Horticulture Club                    

  • Field trips chosen yearly - attend Chicago Mid-Am trade show
    • Growing Power 2009
    • Boerner’s Botanical – Milwaukee
    • Chicago Botanical Garden – Chicago Ill
  • Meet and associate with others in the program to include this years and last year students: camaraderie and the opportunity to inform and to help out each other

  • Membership to Phi Beta Kappa for those that maintain a 3.5 GPA average ($60.00 value)

  • Club provides provides pizza and soda at the meeting
  • Pronouncing Dictionary of Plant Names ($10.00 value )
  • Internship at the Botanical Garden and club will pay for the Internship class ($300.00 + value)
  • Horticulture T-shirt (you pay $5.00, club pays other $5.00)
  • Upon graduation, your cap and gown is paid for by the club
