 NWTC to host Community Wellness & Safety Fair on Saturday

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College hosts a day devoted to health, safety and fun at the Connecting Families Community Wellness & Safety Fair Saturday, April 26 on its Green Bay campus (2740 W. Mason St.). The free family event, held from 9 a.m. -12 p.m. in the NWTC Student Commons, features dozens of hands-on activities for children and parents, tours of law enforcement and fire vehicles, giveaways, a visit from McGruff the Crime Dog and much more.

Other activities at the Community Wellness & Safety Fair activities include: child ID and finger printing by the Oneida Police Department, developmental screenings for infants, toddlers and young children, face painting, an obstacle course and other games, a dental clinic, hands-on organic farming, puppets and art projects, a K-9 demonstration and safety tips from officers.

Complimentary light snacks and refreshments will also be available. Free books and other giveaways are offered while supplies last.

“The Connecting Families Community Wellness & Safety Fair is part of a true community commitment to keeping our children and families healthy, safe and happy,” said Gema Garcia, NWTC Student Services coordinator. “We have more activities this year than ever, so we’re very excited to open our doors for this fun, family-focused event.”

The Connecting Families Community Wellness & Safety Fair, now in it’s 3rd year, is produced in collaboration with NWTC, the Green Bay Police Department, Oneida Tribe of Indians Early Intervention program, Oneida Higher Crime Prevention, and the Oneida Police Department, with support from Schreiber Foods.
