Wednesday, December 14, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Niagara
(Niagara) Area residents interested in starting or advancing their careers are invited to attend a joint open house next week at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and Wisconsin Job Center locations in Niagara.
The Holiday Open House will be held Wednesday, December 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the NWTC North Regional Learning Center-Niagara and Niagara/Florence Wisconsin Job Center – both located at 705 Washington Avenue in Niagara. This event is free and open to the public.
- The Job Center will display a variety of employment and career services in “Santa’s Career Workshop.” The Job Center also can provide information on the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Program, which helps fund training and provides other valuable support services for those in search of training for job placement.
- The NWTC Computer Integrated Manufacturing Mobile Lab will be available for tours and demonstrations. This lab is designed to deliver high tech training to rural high schools. The 44 foot mobile lab is packed with technology, including a computer numerical controlled (CNC) lathe, CNC mill, 13 computers, and an interactive SMART board.
- Area residents interested in achieving their career goals close to home can stop in at any time or attend the free “Getting Started” workshop beginning at 3:00 p.m. This one-hour session will feature information about applications, admissions, programs, testing, registration and financial aid. Individuals can meet with both an academic advisor and a financial aid advisor to help get their questions answered.
- The public is invited to attend and share in free refreshments, holiday cookies and free prize drawings.
