(Green Bay)  “Art Inspired by the Random Forces of Nature” by Larry Booth is the latest exhibit at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Art Gallery – running now through December 20.

The 16-piece display of three-dimensional, basswood and acrylic “topo art” utilizes topographic mapping, woodworking, and bold color palettes to reveal the sinuous abstract designs hidden in the earth's geography.  Each piece is based upon the topography of an actual land form.

“My goal is to create intriguing, tactile art that challenges the viewer’s perception of geography and inspires a new appreciation for the artistry wrought by the random forces of nature,” said Booth. “I also want my art to inspire people to look at the natural world around them in a different way, to realize there is much more wonder to this world than first meets the eye.”

Located in the Library on the second floor of the Student Center on the Green Bay campus, the gallery is open to the public during Library hours. Admission is free. Go to www.nwtc.edu/library for Library hours.
