Technical education is being honored next moth at both the state and national levels.

Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle and the Association for Career and Technical Education have both declared February 2010 to be Career and Technical Education Month.

In his proclamation, Doyle noted that career and technical education...

  • "...supplies our country with a strong, well-trained workforce, which enhances America's competitiveness in business and industry within the international marketplace"
  • "...allows individuals the opportunity to gain the competitive edge, giving them a lifetime of personal satisfaction, occupational growth, and productivity"
  • "...helps both young and old by stressing the importance of lifelong learning and giving workers of all ages the ability to adjust to and compete in a rapidly changing economy and workplace"
  • "stimulates the growth and vitality of Wisconsin"

The proclamation was announced today from Madison. A complete copy of the proclamation of Career and Technical Education Month in Wisconsin can be found on NWTC's website.
