
Enjoy art, explore your potential at NWTC event Feb. 11
(Jan. 31, 2012) GREEN BAY - The public is invited to view local art and explore their own artistic potential during a free event at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
ArtWalk 2012 will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11 in NWTC’s Center for Business and Industry. Admission and parking are free, and all ages are welcome. Visitors can:
- Watch demonstrations
- Tour NWTC’s art collection
- See the work of area artists
- Shop the NWTC Artisan Market Place featuring art from the exhibitors and NWTC students.
- Learn about classes to build their artistic skills in clay, wood, quilting and more.
ArtWalk is part of NWTC’s ongoing work to build the area's art economy. For many years, community members have come to NWTC for classes in drawing, quilting, digital media and photography, silk painting, woodworking, metalworking and other traditional art forms. Prominent area artists have attended entrepreneurship classes to refine their business operations. Newer developments include certificates in wood turning and in clay pottery, permanent and rotating art exhibits, and creation of the NWTC Artisan and Business Center in Green Bay.
