Why did you choose NWTC?

When I looked into NWTC and what the school had to offer, I knew it was a good fit for me.

How was your interaction with your instructors? How did they support you or inspire you?

John Maier and other instructors had either a sales or marketing career prior to becoming an instructor at NWTC. I could relate to their real life experiences and stories. That was very helpful.

What was your first job?

My first job was a dishwasher at a golf course when I was 14. I had a waitressing job in high school and then I started at Keller as an intern while I was attending NWTC. So my first career is here at Keller.

How did you start your career, where you are now, from your internship?

When I was an intern I was only working two days per week. I would help with customer events, tradeshows and other marketing items. I took photos of all of our commercial and agricultural building projects and got our company active on social media. When I started full-time when I graduated my co-worker and myself made up the marketing team.

What was your title when you started full-time?

I was hired as a Marketing Coordinator and am now the Director of Marketing.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

I'm very happy where I am now and I am excited to help grow our 100% employee owned company.

What tips would you give to someone looking for a job?

Get an internship while you are going to school. The real life, on the job experience was priceless and offers another angle of learning in addition to what is learned in the classroom.

How did you find out about Keller?

The Marketing Director at that time was looking for someone to help part-time in the marketing department.

Why do you see yourself as proud NWTC alumni?

I am proud to have gotten my Associate Marketing Degree at NWTC. The classes I took were worthwhile and the instructors were very helpful.

If someone were thinking about attending NWTC, what would you say to that prospective student?

The class options were very convenient. I took advantage of the accelerated classes that were offered. The flexibility that NWTC offers is very attractive to someone who is trying to determine which school is right for them.

Do any other NWTC alumni work at Keller?

Yes, a few of my co-workers from out drafting department graduated from NWTC.
