Criminal Justice Professional Studies​

 
 
Jump start your career in Criminal Justice! Students will get a feel for a variety of criminal justice areas in this program including security, dispatch, law, forensics and even have the opportunity to complete the Department of Justice Jail Academy.
 
 

Law Enforcement Academy

Learn skills of modern law enforcement and practice these skills in realistic environments. NWTC's Academy graduates are known for their high ethical standards, competence in knowledge and skill to do the task at hand, and calm and authoritative demeanor.
 

Emergency Dispatch

​​Graduates of this certificate have the opportunity to complete the National Emergency Dispatching Academy exam which will in turn certify them in emergency dispatching nationally! Those enrolled in the Criminal Justice Professional Studies program will automatically take the classes in this certificate and be eligible for dispatching careers in the community.

​Students can expand their resume by completing this certificate and be certifiable in jail as well as juvenile detention by the Department of Justice.

Jail Officer Academy  (Pathway Certificate)

​Are you looking for a long-term, high demand career in the criminal justice field? This four-week program allows students to gain the training needed to be certifiable in Wisconsin as a jail officer. This certificate is one option during the second semester of the Criminal Justice Professional Studies Associate Degree program.
