 Jail Academy

​Course Information:

This 160-hour Department of Justice course presents the learner with the necessary training to become certified as a jail officer in the state of Wisconsin.

Application Deadline for self-sponsored students is July 20, 2015

This class will run Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Are you a self-sponsored applicant?

What are the requirements to apply?

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Criminal Background Check

  • Original Birth Certificate or Certificate of Naturalization

  • 18 years of age

Self-sponsored applicants need to download the Jail Academy application packet on the right side of this page, and return all application materials as indicated in the packet.  Students in this track will earn six Associate Degree-level credits which will lead to completion of the Jail Academy Pathway Certificate. These six credits can also be transferred to the Criminal Justice - Professional Studies Associate Degree.
