Scooter Basic RiderCourse (16 hours)
42-816-404 SCOOTER BASIC RIDER COURSE ...covers fundamentals for becoming a safe and responsible rider. Provides the opportunity to learn the physical and mental skills important for operating a scooter. Scooters are provided by NWTC or students can bring their own scooter to ride if it meets insurance requirements and T-CLOCS inspection. . A supply of helmets are also available if the student does not bring their own. Upon successful completion of a Scooter Basic RiderCourse, the riding instructor issues each student a signed waiver authorization Form MV3575, which is usable only one time and only by the person to whom it is issued. Forms issued on or after March 1, 2008 are valid for one year from the issuance date on the card. When other licensing requirements have been met, and the waiver form is presented at the DMV service center, a Class M endorsement will be added to the person's driver license. Introduction to Scooters (5 hours)
42-816-405 INTRODUCTION TO SCOOTERS...is designed to be a low risk, effective, and enjoyable training event for participants who have little or no riding experience. Principles of safety, adult learning and motor skill development will be covered. Scooters are provided by NWTC or students can bring their own scooter to ride if it meets insurance requirements and T-CLOCS inspection. This course is not waiverable through the DOT.
