Each year firefighters die or are severely burned when caught in the rapidly deteriorating fire conditions of flashover. In many of these cases, the firefighter does not recognize or understand the warning signs or has underestimated the environment and the dangers.
Flashover training provides the student with the knowledge and experience required to evaluate conditions, recognize the potential for and warning signs of flashover, and delay or prevent its occurrence.
