Using resources effectively is part of running an efficient business, since a typical business spends 25 percent of its operating budget on power. Designing energy savings and power management into buildings and processes can and does:
- Control rising energy costs
- Reduce environmental footprints
- Increase the value and competitiveness of companies and facilities
- Promote goodwill between companies and their communities
Energy management industry to grow 500%
U.S. companies are launching energy management initiatives to reach efficiency and sustainability goals. A recent study expects the energy management industry to grow 500 percent--from about $1 billion in sales in 2011 to $5.6 billion by 2020. NWTC’s own energy management initiative saved the College at least $200,000 in three years.
The Energy Management associate degree program and related programs can bring those benefits to area employers in any industry--and NWTC can prepare you for the growing demand.
· When people ask us about sustainability, we tell them it means getting the most out of every single unit of energy, water, materials and resources used in their buildings.
