Careers in energy and utilities are known for good salaries, long-term job stability, and new technology. Job growth in energy-related fields is excellent, especially in the utility industry, where 53 percent of the workforce will be retiring or preparing for retirement within the next few years. All those jobs will require highly skilled technicians.

The Great Lakes Energy Education Center at NWTC was created to power up the energy workforce. Industry-experienced instructors cover every point of the energy management process, from production to distribution to efficiency. Training includes associate degrees, technical diplomas, certificates, apprenticeships and workforce training. Alternative energy sources, like solar and wind, are taught alongside traditional technologies that bring that power to customers.
