Reality: You are not alone. NWTC has support services to help learners of every age get the most from their education. Many adult students may not have been in a class recently.
Myth: Class schedules are too rigid or too long.
Reality: NWTC has programs designed to fit your lifestyle. NWTC is noted for flexibility and an adult-friendly environment.
Myth: I have too many personal responsibilities and obligations.
Reality: Do something for yourself. Responsibilities increase with time, but don’t forget your responsibility to yourself. Take the time to learn something that interests you; it may help you handle other responsibility with renewed energy!
Myth: It’s too expensive.
Reality: Your income doesn’t limit your possibilities. NWTC offers affordable programs and classes to help you overcome the limits on your life. Some financial aid options may be available as well; please call for details.
Myth: It would require too much travel.
Reality: Opportunities may be closer than you think. NWTC campuses and Regional Learning Centers bring classes to urban and rural communities.
Myth: People won’t see me -- just my age.
Reality: Age is a state of mind (and many of us live in your neighborhood). When minds expand, options do too. Learning is one of the best ways to stay young and feel young. Many organizations value expertise that comes with a youthful attitude.
Myth: School just isn’t fun.
Reality: This is education like you’ve never seen it before. They don’t make classrooms like they used to. Learn to love learning with us.
Myth: I can’t work a computer.
Reality: If you’re interested, we can teach you. Get the computer training you need, at any level. We offer a full range of courses for all skill levels, from basic word processing and Internet use to system networking for high-tech industries.
Myth: I won’t be comfortable.
Reality: We’ll be with you, every step of the way.
