1. Where are the NWTC job openings?
They are located at Job Openings.
2. Where do I get an application for an NWTC job opening?
NWTC requires an on-line application. If you are a current NWTC employee, click here to apply on-line. All external candidates can click here.
3. How will I know if you received my application?
When you submit the on-line application, a message will appear on the screen stating that your submission was successful. If you provided an email address (which is highly recommended), an email will be sent verifying receipt of the application.
4. Is this NWTC position still open?
Generally speaking, we continue to accept applications until the position is filled. When it is filled, the position will be removed from the list of open positions. If you provided an email address, you will receive an email indicating the position has been filled.
5. May I apply after the deadline has passed?
Yes. All jobs listed here are current openings. Most deadlines are specific to internal applicants and will typically indicate that in the posting. Even if the deadline has passed, we accept applications until the position is filled. Those submitted prior to the deadline will receive full consideration.
6. Do I need a cover letter, or resume, or references to apply for an NWTC job?
It's helpful, but not required, to have a cover letter and resume. They are highly encouraged for instructor and other professional positions. We do require 3 professional references on our application.
7. What types of jobs do you have at NWTC?
- Non-Unit Professional: managerial and administrative positions
- Faculty: teaching positions
- Educational Support Specialist: clerical or support positions
- Maintenance: building and grounds maintenance positions

See information and specifics about the job definitions.
8. Where can I find out more about the benefits that NWTC offers?
You can find out more about NWTC’s benefits package at Benefits.
9. What does a percentage mean at the end of a job title?
The percentage indicates that the position is less than full-time with the hours pro-rated accordingly; the hours will be listed on the posting. As an example: If a full-time work week is 40 hours, then a 75% position would work 30 hours in a week. Likewise, a 50% position would work 20 hours in a week.
10. What is your selection process at NWTC?
A selection committee will screen applications and select candidates for phone interviews, then in-person interviews. For many vacancies we have a large volume of qualified applicants, therefore we may be unable to interview all applicants who meet the minimum qualifications. Applicants selected for consideration will be contacted for an interview. Applications are accepted until an offer has been made and accepted by our top applicant.
Candidates offered a position will be required to submit to a background check that may include any or all of the following: criminal background, driver’s license check, education verification, caregiver’s check, employment references, and drug testing. An offer of employment is contingent upon successfully passing the required background checks.
