Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is committed to student success and institutional improvement.
In spring 2010, NWTC joined Achieving the Dream, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping community college students succeed.
Achieving the Dream is focused on creating a “culture of evidence” on community college campuses in which data collection and analysis drive efforts to identify problems that prevent students from succeeding—particularly low-income students and students of color—and develop programs to help them stay in school and receive a certificate or diploma.
As a member of Achieving the Dream, NWTC is identifying strategies to:
- Improve student success
- Close achievement gaps
- Increase retention, persistence, and completion rates
NWTC is the first college in Wisconsin to join Achieving the Dream.
“We are excited to be part of a national effort that is dedicated to student success,” said College President Dr. H. Jeffrey Rafn. “NWTC is on track to graduate a record number of students this year, yet some of our learners leave without finishing their degree, diploma, or certificate – we want all of our students to succeed in meeting their educational goals.”
